What We Believe
Our Statement of Faith is based and established in the Word of God. Among which we believe:
- There is only one God, a true eternal God in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6.4, Matt 12.32, Matt 28.19, John 10.30, John 15.26, John 17.22, 1 Cor 8.6, 2 Cor 13.14, 1 John 5.7)
- The Bible is the Word of God, inspired by God, profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. It is our only written source of guidance (2 Tim 3.16-17)
- That Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He died for us on the Cross for the forgiveness of our sins and to give us eternal life. He was buried and raised from the dead on the third day. He ascended to heaven to the right hand of the Father and will soon return (Matt 1.23, John 1.9, 1 Pet 1.19, Matt 26.28, 1 Cor 15.3-4, Acts 10.43, Eph 1.7, Col 1.14, Heb 10.12, Matt 26.64, Mark 14.62, 1 Pet 1.3, 1 Ts 3.13, James 5.8)
- That repentance is necessary to receive eternal life. Salvation is a gift from God, and we receive it by grace, by faith in Jesus Christ, the only one in whom we have eternal life (John 1.12, John 3.16, John 14.6, Rom 6.23, 1 Tim 2.5, 1 Jn 1.9)
- In the resurrection of the dead, of those who have been saved, to everlasting life with God; and those lost, for eternal separation and eternal judgment (Rom 1.4, 2 Ts 1.9)
- In the commandment to “go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you… ” (Matt 28.19-20)
- In the restoration of a person through the supernatural power of God in healing and deliverance (Mark 1.32, Mark 16.18, Luke 4.40, Luke 10.9, Acts 1.8, Acts 8.7, Acts 19.6, James 5.14-15)
- In the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer through the gifts and power of God (Acts 1.8, Acts 2.4, Acts 10.44-46, Matt 3.11, Eph 1.13, Matt 3.11, Rom 12.6-8, 1 Cor 12, 1 Pet 4.10); and the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Matt 3.11, Matt 28.19, Mark 1.8, John 1.33, Acts 1.5, Acts 11.16)
- In the second coming of the Lord Jesus with power and glory (Matt 16.27, Matt 24.30, Luke 21.27, James 5.8)
